Meet Dr. Vaughn

M.D.

Dr. Alexandra Vaughn is a board-certified medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologist. Dr. Vaughn graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Physiology. She received her medical doctorate from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she was inducted into the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society for excellent academic performance and leadership. During medical school, she completed a one-year research fellowship running clinical trials looking at the influence of the skin and gut microbiomes on skin health. After completing her medical internship at Intermountain Medical Center in Utah, she returned home to Sacramento to complete her dermatology residency at the University of California, Davis. During residency, she served as the Chief of Cosmetics Education. Dr. Vaughn has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and has authored several dermatology textbook chapters.

When not at work, Dr. Vaughn spends time with her husband and two young children. She loves spending time with family, exercising, and traveling.
